The calorie number

GreenSago estimates calories from a photo. That number is not a weighed measurement, a nutrition label, or medical, dietary, or health advice. A photo the app does not recognize as a meal returns no count.

Monthly subscription

Reading photos is a monthly subscription, sold by Google Play on Android and by Apple through the App Store on iPhone. The price is the price the store shows at checkout. You can cancel anytime in Google Play, or in your Apple ID subscriptions on iPhone. Manage and restore live in Settings inside the app. The store’s payment terms apply to the charge.

A subscription reads up to 30 photos a day; the count resets at midnight UTC. A free trial reads up to 5 photos in total. A scan that ends in an error does not count.

The app

GreenSago needs a camera and a connection to send the photo and to check the subscription. The service can be unavailable, and a photo can fail to read. When that happens, the app asks you to try again.
